Fishing Thanksgiving week

There was a weather window Tuesday and Wednesday and we took advantage of it. Randy and I fished for Tog as Randy wanted some for the freezer. We fished the skiff on Tuesday in light winds and managed 5 nice fish in the hour the current subsided (full moon tides) and Wednesday was a bust at the CBBT as current and wind made it difficult and fish were not biting. Came back into the inlet and fished a spot in the river and got 2 keepers. Got to love them River Togs when it's to bad to fish outside. Casey went striper fishing Tuesday night and managed to land one 46 inch fish. Water was 54F.

We caught 10 with these two 19 in fish being keepers. The rest were 15.5 inches. We lost 2 big fish. One broke me off on structure and the other straightened David's hook. Offshore Virginia Beach June 19

Casy, Bill and I took the Change of Pez to Rudee Inlet to run off shore clearing the inlet at 5:30 am with  lines in 62 miles due east of Rudee at 8 am. Got covered up by dolphin before we could get lines out. Recover and picked at some more and switched over to all Marlin lures and rigs. 5 minutes later line goes off thinking its a big Hoo then it runs for the boat and I am reeling as fast as I can and it comes out the water. It's a big blue marlin. I hang on for 2 more jumps and then the line comes loose. It broke the leader with its bill on the third jump. We continued to pick up gaffers on the marlin lures thru the day seeing 4 more in the spread but they don't come tight. We bring in the lures at end of day and all have slash marks on them. Pulled lines at 3 pm getting back to Rudee at 5:15 pm
