June 7,2016 Sheep fishing

Saw a weather window this afternoon with good current. Ted and I were suppose to get together so I said lets go fishing. Ted came along and we did OK. It was tough finding fish but once we did it was on. Fished from 1 to 4 pm catching 4 fish. I got an 11 lb weight paper and a 26.5 in pig I released. The fish Ted is holding weighed 11 lbs. The pig would have gone 14 or 15 lbs as it was real fat. Ted caught his first sheep on his own without any help. It was 23 inches and 9 lbs.Beautiful afternoon.

Offshore May 31st

Casey, Randy and George left at 4 am for a long trek to Norfolk Canyon 75 miles east of Cape Henry. Smooth going for 53 miles then they hit that NE wind. A little sporty after that for next 20 miles. Limit of Tuna, some nice dolphin and a Mako. Good Day guys!

May 9,2016 Red Drum

Well I finally got out and caught some fish. Casey, Chris and I left the house at 6 pm getting set up in the Fisherman's Island Inlet around 7 pm to the first of the incoming. It was a steady bite for the next 3 hours. We caught 10 of which 7 were papers with the biggest 49 inches. I went Saturday but did not have a bite.

March 29, 2016

It has been a long winter although not as cold as we have had in past years. When it was not cold it was raining or the wind was blowing or both. I don't remember a winter when I did not go fishing at all because of the weather. That said I just looked at forecast for next 10 days and do not see a weather window. I hope to get a few days in in April before Tog season closes. Happy Spring!

Fishing Thanksgiving week

There was a weather window Tuesday and Wednesday and we took advantage of it. Randy and I fished for Tog as Randy wanted some for the freezer. We fished the skiff on Tuesday in light winds and managed 5 nice fish in the hour the current subsided (full moon tides) and Wednesday was a bust at the CBBT as current and wind made it difficult and fish were not biting. Came back into the inlet and fished a spot in the river and got 2 keepers. Got to love them River Togs when it's to bad to fish outside. Casey went striper fishing Tuesday night and managed to land one 46 inch fish. Water was 54F.
