Nov 18th Togging
Nice warm Nov. day day. We left the dock around 10 am and headed out to the second island in a light SW wind. We got to the Big D just as the current was changing. I put 2 in the box but it was not much of a bite so headed over to fish the tube. Water was 56F. Got here and I put 1 more in the box before current started ripping. Randy had 2 nice fish break him off. Wind picked up to 20 kts out of west adding to outgoing current so we moved into a spot more protected and it was on.We caught lots of fish and finished up our 3 man limit. We had to weed thru the 15 inch throwbacks but ended up being a fun day.

Thursday Nov. 14, 2013 River fishing
I fished in the afternoon. Wind was SW 15 to 20 MPH water 48F, incoming tide. Tried for tog with no luck then specks and pups. Ran into Randy and later he called me to say he was on a good bite of pups. I got there and after repositioning several times finally caught a nice pup. Randy caught probably a dozen. They only wanted mirror lure TT28.

With the wind and work I haven't gotten out much this month except to catch a few pups in the river. Today was the best shot I have had in 2 months. Light winds, Air 80F, water 69F outgoing tide. We fished the bay side of the 3rd island. Lee Byers was in town from Roanoke and Merv and I took him Drum fishing. The bite was on with fish running from 22 to 49.5 inches. Lee got a 46 inch fish and I got a 49.5 inch. 2 papers in 2 hours.

Fishing Lately
Well the weather has sucked with lots of northerly wind in excess of 15 knots. Brian got out with a friend (Randy) from work and his son Curtis) for take a kid fishing and they caught a few pups but the bite was still kind of slow. Curtis showed Brian and Randy how it was done catching most of the fish leaving the crabs for his dad and Brian. I went Friday 8-16-13 in the river with my friend Buster and we caught about a dozen short flounder and the bite was slow. Water was 76F.

Fishing July 29 th
Well the plan was to Cobia fish today off Cape Henry. We left at 10 am right after I checked the forecast for the last time as it called for light westerly winds and sunny skies with no chance of rain. We got off Cape Henry at 10:45am and it was cloudy with thunderstorms forming to the south and north of us.Great so we decide to wait it out but the storms start moving towards us and the wind starts blowing from the North at 20 knots. The seas were 3 to5 ft at 2 to 3 seconds and a mess. We got our asses handed to us going back to Lynnhaven. Got the skiff and fished for couple of hours in the river catching a few fish.

Fishing the inlet and Lynnhaven River July 24, 2013
I was suppose to go Tarpon fishing today with Pete but the wind was going to blow and it did! Went out looking for bait and could not find but 2 mullet and that's what the flounder have wanted lately. Small menhaden everywhere but the flounder and pups only want mullet. Caught 2 small flounder and no pups. Water 79F, wind NNE 15 to 30 mph. I only fished from noon till 3:30pm as the wind got to much to handle.

Fishing 7/10/13
Well I had called Pete and Randy to see if anyone wanted to fish today. Talked to Pete in AM and to windy for Sheeps so called the trip.Randy left me a message so I called him back and he said he cancelled at flounder trip because of the wind, so I asked him if he wanted to try for some in the skiff. This would be first flounder trip in skiff this year. It went pretty good with 7 keepers between 17 and 22 inches and some pups, lots of filets, fished from 10:30 to 4:30pm under some very tough conditions 25 kts of south wind, and strong current in afternoon on outgoing. Half were caught on jigs and half on live baits. It was hard fishing in the conditions but did manage one cobia also.
