First Cobia Trip This Year
Brian, Merv and I left the house at 10 am , Merv was late and based on the reports lately a Cobia trip didn't seem promising so we stopped and caught some small spot and croakers first to do a little floundering at slack tide. Sight fished from 11:30 to 1:30pm and saw one nice fish that would not eat. Went to try for flounder only one keeper and Merv spots a Cobia, Brian trows the eel and hooks up and 45 seconds later I net a 40 in fish. Spent another hour looking with no luck and wind picked up from east so we headed in. Not a bust and we were happy.
